I need to be restored, Lord. Please bring me back to the place where I was designed to be—running the Christian race with joy.
Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb! Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!
He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
Too often I believe in my own righteousness; I become bitter when people wrong me or things don’t go my way.
Gracious Father, I plead forgiveness and desire to seek only the righteousness of Christ Jesus. You are on the throne; I am not! You are the sole giver of joy!
I have been rescued by God in Christ. I can experience true joy by keeping this perspective my perspective on the race set before me:
Because of who you are God, because of what the gospel is—when I turn to You—You will restore me.
God the Father, thank you for wanting to make your children happy and free!
Son of God, thank you for justifying us so we may be restored and filled with the ability to run the race with joy.
Spirit of God, thank you for keeping us running the race and for helping us keep our eyes on our ultimate prize—an eternity of exploration and bliss of knowing and being known by God.
All praise belongs to you—the Godhead, three in one!
