Forgiven Much? Forgive Much.

“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

Pray:

Dear gracious Heavenly Father, you have forgiven me of so very many sins and continually offer consistent, moment by moment forgiveness as I repent of my lack of conformity to your will according to your Word.

Read:

See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled; Hebrews 12:15

Everyone wants to receive forgiveness but we aren’t always willing to give it. Offering true forgiveness to another person is only possible with God. The Holy Spirit’s power gives his children the ability to be conduits of God’s grace.

Apply:

I desperately need to be forgiven to move forward without guilt or shame. Only you can change my heart of stone.

I desperately need to offer forgiveness to move forward without bitterness or resentment. Only you can change another person’s heart of stone.

[Inhale]

Say:

I release the fear that keeps me from offering forgiveness to someone else. I trust that you will use this for good in my life and for your glory.

[Exhale]

PRAISE:

I trust in you, my forgiving Savior Jesus! I have been forgiven of so much. I have the ability to forgive others by your Spirit within me. All praise belongs to you! All joy is mine!

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, you Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15
