How to Increase Wisdom

His Steadfast Love is Neverending

Pray:

I desire to know you better and how to think and walk wisely in this world. Please show me through your Word how I can gain godly wisdom.

Read:

Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart.
Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!

Psalms 107:13-15

Four unique instances are recorded in Psalm 107. Each time, God’s people cried out to God in their suffering and distress. Each time, he heard them and delivered them from their anguish. Each time, they praised God for his faithfulness to demonstrate his love towards them.

Apply:

When I am suffering, my meditation will be on God’s steadfast love towards me. He has delivered me in the past, he will do it again. I will tell others of his faithfulness now (even in my hurt) because I know he will rescue me again—and he will do the same for them. In doing this, I will grow in the wisdom of the Lord.

[Inhale]

Say:

I give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love towards me endures forever!

[Exhale]

PRAISE:

May the Gospel be proclaimed within my suffering for the sake of the elect and for your glory, my merciful God! (2 Tim. 2:8–9)

And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy!

Psalms 107:22
