The Joy of God’s Glory

Here I am, Lord. Send me where you want me to go. Please fill me with the wonder and joy of tasting your glory. May my happiness be completely rooted in you.

Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! Psalms 115:1

A Christian will not have power in life if she is living for her own glory. When she really knows God (through Scripture and prayer), he becomes her delight and she is fully alive with the Spirit’s joy!

I want to reflect your radiance, God! I surrender myself to you. Thank you for dealing mercifully with the evil in my heart.

I give up my own ambition, honor, and glory to draw near to you, my amazing God. Because I know you I have joy!

All praise to Jesus for his righteous work on my behalf! Peace and joy are mine! Your radiance, God, is brighter than anything I could have on my own, yet you have chosen to let me reflect it. I find my delight in knowing you and my joy in doing your Spirit’s will!

16 The heavens are the LORD’s heavens, but the earth he has given to the children of man.

17 The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any who go down into silence.

18 But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the LORD!

Psalms 115:16-18
