Heavenly Father, when I am hurt, weak, lonely, or disappointed, I sometimes feel like I am forsaken by you. Keep me from underestimating the depths of your love.
And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
Jesus cried out to God in the garden of Gethsemane because he knew he was getting ready to be utterly forsaken by the Father. Even though he knew the agonizing pain ahead, Jesus submitted himself completely to the Father.
I will never be eternally cast away from God’s presence. I am fully accepted by God forevermore.
Even in my pain—no matter how deep—I can cry out as one who delights in you, Abba (my Daddy). You welcome me into your loving presence now and always.
I am justified, accepted, and adopted by you, Father. I am not left alone, but have been given the Spirit who knows how to pray in me and through me. He knows how to delight in you, so I am able to do the same!
