Holy Spirit, I’m yours.
“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).”
The Father has written the Spirit’s name on my heart.
My desire is to let nothing stand in the way of our friendship.
This is how I can go deeper into the love of God.
This is why I keep from lying, unwholesome talk, bitterness, and stealing, and other grievances against his holy nature! (See Ephesians 4:25-32.)
The Holy Spirit is the climax of God’s plan of redemption for me!
My life is not ordinary, but EXTRAORDINARY!
I am forever his!
Because he is mine, my friendship with God is able to be renewed daily.
My soul cries out:
“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
(See Lamentations 3:22-24.)
When the Spirit’s presence seems far away, he is sending me a message.
He’s still my friend, but he’s waiting for me to become so sick of myself that I turn back to the Father as a little child.
This is where I breathe in freshness and discover beauty.
When I seek forgiveness at the foot of the cross of Jesus, I become a vessel filled with the Spirit’s fruit.
I am delivered from myself so I can grow in holiness, kindness, and love for others.
Christians, when we do not grieve, but rather cling, to the Holy Spirit…
we are not only free to love, we are equipped to love as God loves!
